    Seon-wung Hong (b. 1952, Jindo, Korea) received a BFA from Chung Ang University, Seoul, in 1979 and explored the traditional paintings and traditional printmaking of Korea at the forefront of Minjung art in the 1980s. His solo exhibitions include Seonwung Hong’s Printmaking Journey (Insa Art Center, Seoul, and Incheon Shinsege Gallery, Korea, 2001), Tea and Chinese Plum Blossom (Incheon Shinsege Gallery, Korea, 2008), and Spirit and Engraving (Art Space IAa, Jeju, Korea, 2019). He also participated in group exhibitions including The 15 Years of Minjung Art, 1980-1994 (MMCA, Gwacheon, Korea, 1994), The Flow of Modern Korean Prints (Jeonbuk Museum of Art, Wanju, Korea, 2008), and Print, Printmaking, Graphic Art (MMCA, Gwacheon, Korea, 1994). He authored The History of Korean Modern Printmaking (2014).
